Road Trips are the PERFECT Adventure!

There truly is nothing better than being out on the open road, wind in your hair, music blasting from the radio, talking about everything and nothing at the same time with your travel companion. Fun road trips offer memories and experiences that will last a lifetime. And the best part? No two road trips are the same, just as no two adventurers are the same.

Plug in the words “road trip quotes” or “car trip quotes” into the Pinterest search bar and your feed will be instantaneously flooded with beautiful pins: inspiring quotes laid across sweeping landscapes, advocating a romanticized depiction of what a long road trip truly is. Sweeping views outside your windows. Deep conversations with the person next to you, or even with yourself. A newfound appreciation for sun visors, AC, sunroofs, etc.

And you know what? Sometimes perfectly timed road trips are the best medicine for life’s troubles.

What is a Road Trip?

the ultimate road trips guide: ashley's feet up on the dash as I drive through Banff national park

How do you define road trips? Is it an endless adventure that takes you to breathtakingly new places? Is it trekking to the ends of the earth? Going across the state?

There’s no set-in-stone definition for what a road trip is, which provides flexibility to create your own path.

For me, a road trip is time spent in a vehicle that is taking me to an exciting destination, no matter how far away from home I am. Adventure is never far away. It might just be a short road trip away!

What Kinds of Road Trips Are There?

Out and Back

Don’t have a destination in mind, but still want to get out on the open road? An out and back road trip might be just for you. With only time restricting you, any road can become your path. Take your time exploring new roads along the backcountry. You’re in it to see what you can find along the way!

Destination

Your road trip has a purpose: you have a goal in mind. You need to reach your destination eventually, so your pathway will tend to be a little more direct. Take some extra time before or after you reach your destination to make your road trip memorable, not just a means to an end.

One-Way

Just as the name suggests, getting from Point A to Point B is your goal. Maybe you’re moving across the country and want to explore as you go. PERFECT! A one-way road trip is the best way to spice up an otherwise boring move!

Open-Ended

Open-ended road trips are the types that we envisage: no set plan, no destination in mind, just us and the open road. If you have the desire to simply follow where the wind blows, you might have just struck gold!

REMEMBER: There’s no wrong way to road trip!

Need Inspiration?

The saying is true: you don’t know what you don’t know. Some of the best ideas can stem from learning what others are doing and putting your own spin on things. I’ve driven all around the world and wouldn’t have found many of the pathways without the help of some outside inspiration. The road is there,

It will always be there.

You just have to decide when to take it.
